You might be able to get Hipshot to make a locking tuner set that fits the vintage-size bushings of most modern keystone-tuner Epi#x27;s if you ask real nicely. These are the 12/64quot; shaft size. The stock tuners are the vintage Kluson style like these but with the silver buttons, so I imagine these would fit. Also, are these tuners quality for tuning stability? They MUST be better than the stock ones. I was originally thinking about getting the Grover 102 rotomatics with the nickel kidney bean buttons, but I think I'd have to ream out.

If they are pressed fit, they are 5/16quot; holes. With 33 tuners, the larger holes are 10mm and the smaller Kluson types are called 9mm. I#39;ve always put Grovers on 33 guitars which require the 10mm hole. There are two different sizes of conversion bushings which should allow for any type of Kluson-ish tuner to fit in a 10mm hole. The tuners are inserted through two universal mounting plates. For a 33 headstock, one spans the near and middle holes and interlocks with the other that spans the middle and far holes repeat that for the other side. On another guitar with 0.236 tuners, the outside diameter of the 0.236 bushings was bigger than the out diameter of the 1/4quot; bushings that came with the 1/4quot; tuners.
